    - Tasty Mexican food - the service was off. We had our appetizers served with our meal and our margaritas served near the end of the meal. - waiter went on and on about how much care they give to making sure food does not get mixed up, but my wife's order

We ate here a year ago. We are at a motorcycle rally. While most folks want burgers and pizza, we knew this place had something that can't be missed..Chiles en Nogada. I can tell you..the sauces don't smother the proteins..they enhance them. The portions are good sized...the chips warm, the salsa tasty, the tableside Guacamole wonderful...the Mojito tasty and the beer cold! This is not Tex Mex..and for that I am happy! We sat outside, in June. The high today was 85°..the patio was comfortable..and NOT buggy! We will be back..for sure!

It was 730pm and I was told the kitchen was already closed. Needless to say there isn't a review. Granted it was a Thursday night but still. There were folks eating in the restaurant and there was no indication at the entrance they were closed. Food was good last time we are here but maybe call ahead of not the weekend.

Location and atmosphere: 4 of 5. Plate presentation: 5 of 5. Quality & taste: 3 out of 5. Very expensive for what you receive: 1 out of 5

This place is terrible. Food came out cold and we waited over 2 hrs. The owner said point blank we make enough we don't care how your food came out. Cold or not you have to pay. The food was over seasoned and EXTREMELY overpriced. This place has gone so far downhill. Literally. What a dump. Sad to think an owner of a business's doesn't care about it.

Casa Colina is a quaint little Mexican joint when you first enter downtown Eureka Springs. My husband and I have ate here every year since we got married 6 years ago. The day we got married, this place was one of the few that was open (in middle January), so we dubbed it "our place". This year on our annual visit, we both commented just how downhill it went. The food was plated and presented nicely, but the quality was nothing short of canned or shelved food. I decided to try the "CocoRita" drink and unfortunately it tasted like coconut juice on ice. Isn't there supposed to be tequila in anything 'Rita? The staff had some negative comments to say about other guests, which was disturbing and the male host/owner drank the whole time we were there. Just seemed unprofessional to me. Oh and the parking? Might as well forget it unless you are okay with parking a half mile away and walking. We have decided that Casa Colina will be skipped next time we come to Eureka Springs. There are more dining places with radiant reviews that would be more worth our time. In a nutshell, it's sad having to relinquish "our place".

I am a local and I LOVE this place. Always a highlight for first timers. The food is great and so is the setting and ambiance. We are a tourist town and sometimes we get hit hard, that's the only reason I can come up with for the folks that had a less than perfect visit.

Went to eat here while on vacation but never actually made it to a table, I made a reservation for 6pm, arrived 10 minutes before 6, waited around until past 6, rude host man told me he could not seat us then & we would have to wait, (not apologetic at all, would've been nice if you showed some concern or cared) another party showed up that had reservations & rude host man said he didn't have their reservation written down & they had to wait as well, was not apologetic & gave a very snooty attitude, terrible customer service, I really can't deal with that kind of attitude when I'm going to frequent your business & give you my money SO after waiting 15 minutes past my reservation time & still not being seated we jetted out of there...btw beware of parking lot, you better drive a Smart car to fit in there:-X

I had high hopes based on the patio and atmosphere, which was very cool. The restaurant was clean and had a hip feel, however, the main dining room was awkward and cramped....small place. The patio is big and inviting with a great garden and pond. A great place to relax and enjoy a cerveza! The food.....average at best. I had chicken enchiladas which were unremarkable. Black beans and rice were straight out of a can and a box, neither of which I finished. Plate presentations were really really pretty....I wish as much effort had gone into the flavor. My wife had the fish tacos....Her feeling about her dinner was pretty much the same as mine above. We really miss the old Center Street South restaurant....

I absolutely loved the atmosphere of this place and the food and wait staff made it so much better. The food was very colorful and had an amazing taste to match. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who travels to Eureka Springs.

First, I know that this restaurant has recently gone bankrupt and is going by another name even though they still have old signs up of Casa Colina. Horrible service and very unprofessional. Food was taking longer the 30 minutes when they finally came and told us that the food was on its way and the tray fell on the floor. We offered to pay our drinks and left to the next taco place down the road which was much better. Do not go to Casa Colina or whatever it is called now unless you have an extra hour to wait for your food and drinks. Will not be coming back.

We ate there this past Saturday evening. This was our third time to eat there. It has slowly gone down hill to were we will not eat there again. We ate there last summer for the first time and had the best strawberry daiquiri and margarita. The food was good and the drinks were great. We went again in the fall and was told the blender was broken so we had other drinks that were not near as good. The food this time was ok. This trip we were told that they no longer had a blender at all. My husband asked for a jalapeño margarita which they'd made for him before. Usually restaurants will remove the seeds and dice the jalapeños up pretty small. This drink was full of chunks and with tons of seeds floating it it. He couldn't take a drink without getting a mouth full. The food was terrible. I ordered beef tacos and there was so much cilantro on it that it was ridiculous. Adding tons of cilantro will not trick the customer into thinking the food has flavor which it definitely did not. Very overpriced for the quality of the food. How can you boast about having the best margaritas and not even have a blender. Customers should be able to decide on frozen or on the rocks options.

We were looking for a patio atmosphere while we were driving around downtown Eureka. We saw this place and thought, margaritas! Why not right? Nice try, Jan. We arrived to an older gentlemen playing a mandolin with a choir of peep frogs from the decorative pool/natural spring running out the side of the hill the establishment was built upon. Nice touch right? Nice try, Jan. We were seated in the patio, and ordered our waters, margaritas, and queso with chorizo.. Cheese dip arrived sans chorizo. "Oh hey, this is supposed to have chorizo in it." Proceeds to leave queso on table and 10 minutes later brings little bowl of chorizo and dumps it in half eaten queso then spent 5 minutes apologizing. The tacos were dry. The margaritas left us irritatingly sober, which was unfortunate after the weird service and incessantly apologetic waiter who all but told us "You're gonna have a bad time, y'all", when he seated us I'm the beginning. Waiter didn't charge us for the tacos, but then proceeded to offer to buy us ANOTHER pitcher of margaritas "for all of the trouble". Every time he came to the table he apologized and thanked us for our patience. Nice try, Jan.

Very good Mexican food. Great atmosphere, you can dine outside or inside. Our waiter, Larry, was very friendly and helpful. He came around often to check on us, refilled our water glasses, and brought more chips and salsa. The food is prepared fresh and the portion was very filling. When it's busy parking is a little tight.

We stopped here at the recommendation of our hotel owners. We got there as soon as they opened on the first day of the season. We were greeted by several staff that seemed genuinely happy we were there. The owners took extra care to turn up the heat so I wasn't so cold. Jimmy, our server, lived up to all the previous fabulous reviews. He was very helpful and gave great recommendations. He even brought out a sample of their mole sauce for me to try. The food was very good. The portion sizes were average..not enough for any left overs but filling. We didn't have any issues with parking but during the busy season it may be problematic. The owners checked on us during our meal and made sure we knew how much they appreciated us stopping by. We will definitely stop by again if we make it back to Eureka Springs.

We absolutely loved this place! We had a very large group with kids and all, and they did an outstanding job of keeping everything straight and on time. My wife and I split the Ultimate Fajitas, and they were super delicious. Our daughter had the chimichanga and it was super tasty. The salsa was very tasty and the quest dip was phenomenal. I would come back again in a heartbeat.

  • Hailey H.

Very tasty and savory. More of a "gourmet" style on Mexican than authentic flavors (but still delish!) Serving sizes were quite small and pricy though. We ordered the steak & chicken fajitas for 2, which ended up being the same size as a single order at most other mex restaurants. Not enough for leftovers. Service and chips were great!!

My girlfriend and I tried to eat here for dinner one night back in March 2012. The keyword here is tried. It took almost 10 minutes after walking down the stairs and into the restaurant to be acknowledged by any person working here. Then, one of the waitstaff informed us it would be 15 minutes for a table. I looked around and noticed the restaurant was empty except for 4 tables that had people? I mean totally empty! Thank goodness there are plenty of other good restaurants close by. With poor customer service like this I have absolutely no idea how they are still in business.

The good: the food. I have had the vegetarian enchiladas (with peppers and onion) twice, and both times they were very good. I like the corn tortilla and the sauce, and the veggies taste fresh and are not overcooked. Yum. I don't know what the deal is with those little tortilla strips they put all over everything. Could do without those but they do look pretty! Wish they had a vegetarian bean option. Both the refried and the black beans have pork in them, just so ya know. The rice is just meh but it's not like anyone goes to a Mexican restaurant for the rice, anyway. My sexy beast husband had the beef chimichanga and ate the heck out of it. Two thumbs up from that guy. In-laws liked their dishes too, but I can't remember what they got. Last time I was there (about a week ago), the jalapeño appetizer was super yummy. Not very spicy but they serve them with some kind of sauce that you can dip the pepper in, and that has a little heat to it. Pretty freakin delicious, actually. Big portions and yummy chips. The salsa could use a little heat. The margarita is ok. It's $5 and I could easily drink two if they were a little cheaper; alas, I will save that spare $5 for a 6-pack of Coors for the hotel room. ;-) The outdoor seating is pretty spiffy. Both times I've been there, it's been with a group of 5, so we usually get seated in the back of the patio, not overlooking the street, but even then it's really nice out there. Both times I've been there, the servers have been nice, if not super attentive. The not-so-good: Last week when we were there (it was a Friday night), the hostess had some weird attitude. There were 5 of us. She asked if we had a reservation. We did not. She said she'd "see if she would be able to fit us in." Eye roll. There were, like, 3 other tables seated, and tons of open space. And it was 5:30pm. And during the course of our meal the restaurant never did fill up. Maybe she was having a bad day. That's ok. Surely the manager (I assume he was the manager or owner since he was chillaxin' with a glass of wine) that was sitting right next to her could step up and get us seated. He did encourage her to check with one of the servers, and 5 minutes later we were seated. Ok ... whatever. Really the only other complaint I have is that, with the slow (but nice!) service we got from our server, the wine-drinking manager guy could have been up and helping clear plates, fill water glasses, help expedite food, etc. But I guess he was really enjoying that glass of wine. You pay at the table with cash or card--they have card reader things hooked on to their personal smartphones, which is kinda unsettling but not a huge deal. You choose a tip option on the screen: no tip, 18%, 20%, or 25% (!!!). I did appreciate that our server (Sara) didn't force us into the large group 20% gratuity bracket that they claim. Prices are average or just above, which is understandable in a tourist town. Parking is tricky in their little lot (especially for us in a big truck) so we parked up the hill at the shuttle parking (free in the evenings!) and walked, which was nice after all that food. I'll go back, fo sho, because I like those enchiladas and those jalapeños. But I hope that hostess is in a better mood next time. And I hope that wine-drinking manager guy gets up and helps his staff out a little bit.

everyone at one point or another has spoken that phrase: "hey remember that one place we ate at" Casa Colina is one of those places for me. we visited this place while on a mini vacation in Eureka Springs. the place stood out in my mind because we had to trek a little bit out of town to get to it, not that it was a horrible walk or anything, just making a note that it was outside of town, hidden away. The place was festively decorated, and it was also loaded with lots of people. we were led to an upper level of the restaurant, and were seated. the server informed us of items not available on the menu that evening and took our drink order. we had chips and salsa while waiting for the food, surprisingly we didn't have to wait too long, especially for the amount of folks in the place. I ordered a chimichanga, a beef one. it had a delicious cheese sauce over it, that added even more flavor than it already had. I cleared my plate and was utterly satisfied with my entire dining experience. i was surprised to see the reviews here, since I personally had a nice time and enjoyed myself. Would I return to this establishment and have another meal? why most certainly I would. I think on a less busy night would be a better choice..

I am a fan. We dropped by and were pleasantly surprised. Nice setting, parking is tough, but it is Eureka and hilly. The food was not ordinary Mexican, yea! I had chicken in a creamy cilantro sauce and it was good. My husband ate steak fajitas and enjoyed them. Good, hot food. Good service and a clean restaurant. As others have stated, only cash or Arkansas state checks, no credit or debit cards. ATM on site. We will go back.

Found Casa Colina after a long day's drive, it was late afternoon and even though we were only looking for a cold beverage and appetizers to hold us over until dinner, they happily sat us on the beautiful deck. JImmy was a great server, prompt, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Our group had mojitos and margaritas. The mojitos were delish and the atmosphere was lovely. We ordered the guac but since I live in Southern Cal I admit to being a tough customer in that regard. Guac was ok, over priced I think? But It was such a perfect spot there on the deck that we decided to stay for dinner. Food selection was a bit more sophisticated than your usual Mexican fare you can get in the area but not killer by any means. Service and atmosphere were 5 stars but the tasteless salsa, over priced guac, and average food reduced my rating to 3 stars.

I arrived at 8:15pm on a Saturday night. After waiting for 10 min for someone to seat us. I was told that the kitchen was closed for the night, even tho they say they are open till 9pm. The owner was not a very nice man. I wasn't dressed badly. I had jeans and razorback shirt, so I don't think that it was because I was underdressed. Either way I won't be returning. I rather spend my money at any other place than there.

We went here in March weather was nice but the place prob gets going when weather is really nice, they have a nice deck area that looks like a good time for all that are there. Inside is small so get there early or late, we were late and still waited for about 10 min. Chips were good salsa just ok but not bad, my wife and I have found the salsa can say alot about a place and the salsa says it all, the food was good not great, would come back again. I had the fish tacos I thought it needed a little sauce for flavor something else other than just the grilled fish and lettuce. Wife had the taquitos we both liked them, looked like they made them and fried them fresh, beans and rice was like everything else, good.

Good fajitas. Less onions, more green and red peppers would be nice. Parking can be a challenge, but that is true for most places in Eureka, and should not deter you.

My family come to Missouri about 4 times a year to visit relatives and we always go to visit the funky little town of Eureka. There are some wonderful restaurants in town......but this is not one of them. I usually judge a Mexican restaurant first by their salsa. Some of the worse salsa I have had at a Mexican restaurant. The beer was OK but it was out of a bottle, My wife had their sirloin specialty they have listed and it was not cooked to her specification and was disappointing. I had beef fajitas which consisted of maybe 4 slices of beef and the condiments....it was OK but wayyyyy over priced for what I received. If you are going just to drink beer,,,,then this is an OK restaurant but the food a salsa are not up to par. Don't waste you money.

My husband and I ate here on a weekend outing. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the awesome view. We had the Mexican Shrimp and Scallops. What a great place. Our food was really good, the service was really good and the atmosphere was great. Parking can be challenging. I suggest parking at the park and ride at the top of the hill and walking down. Its not too far...even on the way back after you eat its not bad! I highly recommend this place.

While in Eureka Springs we had a craving for Mexican food and we decided on Casa Colina. I called the restaurant to get directions and was told that because of the rainy weather, table availability would be limited so come early. The restaurant is essentially a house with an outdoor seating area and about 30 tables inside. We liked the decor and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We were seated upstairs as the entire downstairs was occupied. It was a sign of a good restaurant. My first impression of the menu was that I wasn't at just any ordinary Mexican restaurant. They offered the traditional fare such as enchiladas and fajitas but I was surprised to see the great seafood items. I had the ancho chile rubbed chicken breast and it was cooked perfectly. The cilantro rice was a nice touch too. My plate was full of flavor and I enjoyed it. The portions were more than average and I was satisfied. I would definitely go back and look forward to sampling more of their dishes.

Great news - they now take credit cards!!! We stayed in a nearby motel and chose Casa Colina because we could walk there (this weekend downtown Eureka Springs is full of motorcycles and wedding guests.) What a fabulous decision! Complimentary chips were my favorite style - hot, thin and crispy, served with mild but fresh and flavorful salsa. We shared the Queso appetizer and the Chilies en Nogada (Poblano chilies stuffed with smoked pork, served with walnut crème sauce plus rice and beans. Divine flavor combinations, not the usual Tex-Mex. The restaurant was very busy but their servers hustle to serve customers as quickly as possible. We ate on the deck and enjoyed the cool breezes, festoon lighting, colorful flags, etc. Highly recommend that you find a way to overcome the parking challenges and enjoy this restaurant! Note: You can pay to park at the Visitor Center just above the restaurant, not sure if you have to pay at night when the Center is closed. We will definitely return any time we're in Eureka Springs.

Very good food with decent service. This isn't greasy Tex-Mex. The food is a more contemporary take on Mexican food. The outdoor dining area feels like sitting in a neat treehouse due to the combination of decor and hillside location. We will likely stop by for another meal here before we finish our vacation here. The Cash / Arkansas Checks-only policy is inconvenient, but this restaurant is worth a trip to the ATM.

  • V S.

First with the good, nice looking restaurant now with the bad, food way overpriced and nothing really Mexican in the way of food. Hint get corn tortillas for flautas not flour tortillas. Please don't call mole a tomato sauce with a weird taste and the rice is not authentic, more like uncle ben's Mexican rice wanna be. The fajitas were dry pieces of meat that were not good at all. A real waste of money, shame!

This was the first place we ate while visiting Eureka Springs. Being from Texas, I was anticipating more Tex Mex style, but was pleasantly surprised by the menu and food. The chips were fresh and crisp, the salsa was okay, tasted a bit like Pace to me, very chunky and not hot. You can also purchase this at Silly Chili downtown if you like it! We had tacos and enchiladas---really liked them!!! Not too heavy at all or greasy! The rice and black beans had a fantastic flavor, I could have eaten just those! The meat was seasoned well (especially the chicken!) We also got margaritas, which were reasonably priced and delicious! The weather was perfect for their outdoor patio, but I could see how it could be an issue with rain, heat, or cold. We'd eat here again if we find ourselves back in Eureka Springs!

Great food and service. Started out with chips and salsa, both tasted fresh and homemade. Had fajitas, and there was more than I could eat. The beef was tender, and all the side dishes were very tasty.

Went here immediately upon arrival for a girl's weekend and were starving. We were greeted warmly by Nick, our server, who seated us and made menu & drink recommendations. The outdoor seating area is lovely and cool, even on a very hot day. The margaritas are delicious (but a tad expensive for the size) and the salsa is amazing. My friends raved over the guacamole and their entrees (ancho chicken I believe) and I had fish tacos. I am a fish taco snob and these were delish. Perfectly cooked and seasoned with a ton of flavor. My friends and I ride motorcycles and were dressed accordingly (as many visitors to Eureka Springs are) and were given some very condescending looks by the older woman who appeared to be the owner or manager. Then when we were nearing the end of our drinks we were told there was a reservation for our table and we had to leave (?). Ok - not ideal but we moved to a bar table to finish our drinks and both the bartender and the snooty older woman glared at us some more. I guess they thought we were going to abandon our overpriced drinks. Fortunately our server was amazing and the food was delicious - otherwise this would have been a much different review.

I've been to Casa Colina a few times. The Fajitas are wonderful and they make some awesome, freshly squeezed Margaritas!!! They are working on completing their outside seating and hopefully this summer I'll get to give it a whirl. I tend to only be in Eureka when it is cold. The service was great. Probably would've been there a few more times but their hours of operation seem to change occasionally and they aren't open when you think they would be. Which stinks when you drive about an hour specifically to eat their and didn't think about calling first. Definitely worth the try.

We ate at Casa Colina last night. We arrived at 8:55 and they close at 9:00. They happily seated us and we had a really sweet girl for a server. We enjoyed the chips and salsa. My husband had the chicken tacos and I ordered the chicken chimi. We were both very satisfied with our meals. They did add a lot if onion as garnish so if you aren't a fan you might ask them to leave that off!

Place was just ok very tourist trap price wise, I ordered the ultimate fajitas. For 18.95 for shrimp chicken and beef thought I would get A LOT more. Then we also ordered the stuffed avocado. Also for 20.00 dollars thought would get more food and the shrimp that came on it you could tell from being on the plate were frozen. My absolute biggest problem with this place was the way you had to pay. They use the square thing for the iPhone to pay and when it went to paying for it the waiter/waitress then goes ok well how much of a tip would you like to give me is pretty much the way I feel it is set up. Now if the manager had come around and done the paying that would be different cause if I didn't want to tip I could tell him. And also the lowest tip choice was 18%

Alright so atmosphere awesome! But if you want any choice in seating in any of the open tables. Fo geta bout it. Hostess was a royal batch. I was dumb founded and still don't understand. She sat couples before and right after us in tables I wanted. Killed my mood. So fajitas for two a complete rip off very small portions! Beans and rice, completely bland. Here's the thing maybe were picky. We eat and cook Mexican food, well all the time. So we could be horribly bias. Not sure. But the hostess killed the place....will never go back.

I've read the low star reviews and can only think that either things got better or we were there at a quiet time. Or service was wonderful, the margaritas delicious, the patio and natural spring delightful and our dinners were some of the best Mexican food I've had. The poblano in the Chiles de Nogada were roasted to perfection, the pork juicy and the mole sauce WS the BEST I've ever eaten in my life. True Mexican food, not Tex-Mex. we were so pleased.

Soo good we went twice! The fresh, table-side made guacamole is amazing....how could it not be, everything fresh and made in front of you. The chips are plentiful, light and crisp. Also had the grilled chorizo jalapenos which were awesome; we had two orders of those! Margarita on the rocks were great. Our entrees were all good, but not to die for. We will go back. Very neat location up on a hill and outside, but under a roof. Nice setting.

We were in Eureka Springs on Memorial Day weekend and the town was packed, so we chose Casa Colina since it was less than a block from the park and ride parking lot. The outdoor patio was very nice; great view and plenty of seating--I would avoid eating inside as it seemed cramped and dark. The complementary chips and salsa were plentiful and fresh, if not spicy. I got the house margarita, which was fine, but nothing extraordinary. My dining companions ordered the mojito (traditional, but they also had a mango one) and the merlot sangria (they also have a white wine sangria) and they both enjoyed the beverages. Our server was friendly, if a little pushy about drinks and dessert and we did not have to wait very long for our food. I had the pork enchiladas with mole sauce, which were flavorful and artfully served. The meat was smoked and tender, and the mole was good. I would recommend the enchiladas. My dining companions got tacos (beef and pork) and the ancho chicken; everyone seemed satisfied with their meal. It seemed as if they did not have much for vegetarian diners, as the only entree I saw without meat was the avocado enchiladas The $$ rating is accurate, as there is nothing on the menu for less than $11 and there is a split plate fee of $4, so if you are not super hungry, this might not be the place for you.

My husband and I recently visited this restaurant for dinner after getting lost on our walk toward downtown Eureka Springs...I'm now so glad we were lost because we found this place! I highly recommend eating at Casa Colina for dinner! We received outstanding treatment from our server Jimmy. He was attentive, friendly, and made one of the best batches of guacamole we've ever had. I ordered chicken fajitas that were out of this world and was served a large portion. My husband had a seafood dish, I can't recall the name, but he loved it. the outdoor seating area is really neat; tables are situated on a porch with pretty landscaping. We washed our food down with a few beers. I only wish we found this place earlier in the evening so we could've had a few drinks at the bar before dinner. The owner, a fellow NYer like us, was very friendly. We arrived a half hour before closing and thought 5 other family members were joining us (they ended up going to a restaurant closer to their hotel) and the owner said he could accommodate all of us even though it was almost closing time, which was really appreciated. We will definitely return to Casa Colina during our next trip to Eureka Springs this winter.

We had dinner here tonight and the food was very good. Not very Mexican, but very good. However they have strange rules. For example, there are no sides of guacamole even with fajitas unless you order the hand made appetizer for $9. Then, you only get three small tortillas with the fajitas which only hold about half of the fajita mix and if you ask for more, you have to buy a side order. So, if you plan to order fajitas, bring a couple of your own tortillas.

On the outskirts of town, Casa Colida is a good option for dining in Eureka Springs. I enjoyed the outdoor deck, which wraps around the restaurant and offers great views of the local scenery. I got a Merlot Sangria, which was tasty but very mild (#6). I think is was mainly spritzer. My friend enjoyed their margaritas and mojitos as well, but overall they weren't out of the ordinary. I got 3 pulled pork tacos, rice and beans ($11.50). The pork was smoked, which was a nice touch but I would have liked that knowledge before ordering. The beans were basically black beans right out of the can with a bit of cheese on top. A tablemate got the Ancho-rubbed Chicken, which had a good spice and was very tender ($13.95). The mole enchiladas were good as well, but the food was not a good as the price-tag would imply. I might choose one of the roadside Mexican joints in the future... The town was packed the weekend we went, but there was plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant. The service was attentive and friendly as well. Overall, the main draw as Colina was the patio and the fresh salsa. Sitting in the shady, watching motorcycles pass by, and munching on big chunks of tomato, cilantro and jalapeno was very relaxing.

This is fresh Mexican food with quality ingredients, prepared and served by professionals. No canned sauces or frozen fish. The outdoor dining area is beautiful and the indoor was relaxing and quiet with great service. They DO take cards now & there is an ATM inside if you prefer to pay cash.

I love this place! I've been to Casa Colina twice now and have had a great experience each time. The atmosphere is wonderful, with outdoor seating on multi-leveled decks and beautiful surroundings. The food is even better...fresh and delicious. I'm a vegetarian and was put off initially by their menu which is heavy on the meat. However, the server assured me that they would accomodate my requests. And, they did! Plus, they have some of the best salsa verde I've ever eaten. It's my new favorite place to eat in Eureka.

The better half an I were looking for a quaint lunch....found this on YELP and decided to give it a try since they had open parking at 1pm on a Saturday. Ordered top shelf and premium Margaritas.... Damn they were good! On the deck, Sunny and 75 degrees, it was just what we needed. We ordered Cajun crab cakes with shrimp and pasta garish. Very well done and flavorful! Also got a chicken grilled specialty with rice. - chicken was well cooked, but not dry. Ordered the sauce sampler b/c I'm a sauce freak and enjoy copying good ones. The tomato based house salsa lacked flavor, but the sweeter green sauce had hope. The chipotle fire sauce was my favorite. Good pepper favors and great / fresh chips. Nothing bought at Sam's Club and reheated. Kitchen was a bit slow, but they got quite a few people just as we entered. Their clocks in this area all run 75 minute hours, so relax and take your foot off the gas for awhile. Server was very friendly and gladly got a 20% gratuity, but the Margaritas also greatly helped everything be all good! Not immediately downtown, but convenient parking going in or out of Eureka Springs. Great atmosphere. Go try it Yelpers.

Overall atmosphere was pretty good. My friend and I had the taquita plate and was ok. The refried beans had a strange taste. When asked said they used garlick as one ingredient. If so it was a taste we couldn't get down. But the most disappointing thing was advertising the best margaritas in town and they didn't have them ready. This was an hour after they opened.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!! The absolutely worst dining experience in my life..... Let me start off by saying two things I can't judge the food because I was only there for less than 10 minute. OK here we go....... First of all I don't review very many restaurants but I felt the need to share my experience at this restaurant. OK we are seated I take a phone call, I am talking on my cell phone when the waiter comes to the table. I then take my cell phone and set it down and I asked the waiter "what do you recommend" The waiter then replies I recommend you look at the menu... OMG LOL, I paused, and looked at my wife because I thought he was joking. The waiter never cracked A smile never said anything, then he said open the menu so I open the menu, then he proceeded to point at all the highlighted items on the menu, I then asked him how their quesadillas were, HE THEN SAID "there just quesadillas". OMG , I thought I was on candid camera or something, I can believe this was happening. We decided to get up and leave I went to look for someone to pay for the one beer that we had I wife took one drink of, once I found a waiter I ask him if I could speak with a manager before I left, he then pointed under the table at a man sitting there 2 feet from us. I walked over and asked that man are you a manager he stood up never looked at me as he walked away he said no... I then asked the guy taken my money, I thought you said he was the manager and he answered (under his breath) and said no he's the owner.. The guy was like scared to tell me who this man was.... I can't believe this was happening this fat piece of shit did not have the balls enough to even ask me what happen he sit there and listen to everything I said and never even commented or ask me what happened.. (THIS WAS OWNER) The only thing I can assume is the rude waiter had already said something to him.. (sorry for my language I have never ever ever had anything like this happen before it ruined or day and I'm not even sure we will even come back to Eureka for awhile) If I could give negative stars I would. Too bad I didn't get to try the food... :)

We drive past this place every time we come to Eureka Springs, and we always say we're going to try it next time we come. The place always looks so cool up there on the hill, what with the lights and colors, and those little flags... Well that next time was the time, the last time we went. I will now review Casa Colina, in order of events. The parking was awful! The entire family was fighting by the time we turned the car off. It was the tiniest parking lot ever, and I know tiny! We were eventually seated at an awkward little table nestled in a downstairs-upstairs-back-corner room. The air was hot and wet. Our waiter sounded like Beau Bridges. The salsa sucked. It tasted sour, like something had gone bad. We ordered guacamole in hopes of having something decent to snack on until our entrés arrived. They made it fresh at the table. It was very uncomfortable, and wasn't very good either. The entrés came. Sure, the plating was nice. But the food was ... bland. Boring. Bleh. And the price was about three times that much. Won't be going back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
